No Alone-Time TV - Day 6
It's getting to the point where I'm realizing that this No Alone-Time TV segment may only need to be updated by the week, because it's simply not exciting enough to write about daily. I guess the excitement would increase immensely if I actually missed the television, but every single day, I am constantly reminded with how poor the state of our world is. In all honesty, I don't care to sit and watch it from the comfort of my couch anymore because, let's face it, the actors can't hear me on the other side of the screen.
What if we lived our lives like we watched a soap opera? (And when I say soap opera, I mean one of these fantastically realistic prime time shows like LOST, Desperate Housewives, or Grey's Anatomy) I've sat and listened to friends and family RAVE about what actors should have done differently, and how they hope that so and so stays out of trouble, or how they hope what's his face gets caught. And in my life, these are the same people that idly sit by and watch friends make messes out of their lives. Maybe we are just starting to expect levels of drama in our lives now that we didn't tolerate before.
Almost every one of us has watched a scary movie and told that stupid supporting actress, "No! Run! Don't go up those stairs!" Why won't we be near as bold with real people that we have real relationships with?
In Christ,
Bob
