A Wonderful Reunion

I've had a busy day today, at least to this point.  I was up for choir practice at 8:30 and the minute that was over, I was in the building next door preparing for our Teens' Easter Breakfast.  On top of that, preparing for the Teen Easter Breakfast meant working with two moms who run deep with 'Type A' personality.  So I've been running errands.

At the end of my errand-run, I had the job of laying the table cloths over the 20-something tables we had set up in the cafeteria.  As I was doing this, my former college pastor/current coworker came in and helped with a few tables.  It was nice of him to do, but no biggie.  As he and his wife were leaving, I wished them a Happy Easter since I won't see them tomorrow.  In response, Brent said this:

"Thank you, and a Happy Easter to you, too.  And don't forget what it is you're celebrating.  Tomorrow you celebrate the one event that means you get to see your dad again."

What a great perspective!  So, call me selfish, call me conceited, call me what you will.  Tomorrow as I remember what Jesus did on the cross for me, I will also be thanking him for that wonderful reunion to come.

Happy Easter!

Bob
