See You at the Pole

This morning was the annual celebration entitled, "See You at the Pole!"  At 7:15 am,  more than 50 students at Granger Christian School joined thousands of students around the country in prayer and worship.  This day, students of all different races, backgrounds, and educational systems met at flagpoles in every state to take a stand for Christ and pray for revival in our schools, cities, governments, and nation.  This day however, brought to life a new burden.

It's all about them!!!!!!

I was broken before the sun rose today, as I stood to listen to the prayers and thoughts of men and women of all ages.  With no disrespect, our prayers were so sorely misfocused, that I feel we are growing to soon miss the entire point of SYATP.

"I pray that they would stand..."

"I pray that they would see..."

"I pray that you would do a work in them..."

Oh, were it so, that we could afford to look for the specks in this world.  You see, I stood, holding hands with this group of believers, realizing that to see the world's specks, I was looking past the PLANK resting in my own eye.  How wretched am I, that on a day that I seek to pray for revival in schools, governments, and societies, I fail to see that any hope of that revival starts on the inside.  It begins with a series of individual revivals taking place, where we as believers confess our sins and repent...daily!  Until then, we are asking God to send an army, but we're not taking up arms.  We're asking God to send us the harvest, but we're not prepared to reap what we have sown.

I'm not criticizing others from a pedastal on this.  I feel that there's no better place for me to start than with me.  I'm not saying we need to be selfish Christians, either.  I'm not saying that we need to be perfect to evangelize.  In the end, I'm emphasizing that it really is about them, and the news they don't know.  It's so much about them, that I need to be willing to give of myself so that they just might believe.

Love,

Bob

I love the truth of that. Any hope of revival comes from the fact that God changes individuals. Thanks for being real and open. There is always a challenge and encouragement in your honesty.

I'm praying for you and your ministry. Miss ya friend!
